ROMP rural stream preceptor recognized Dr. James Lane was awarded the Community-Based Physician Leader / Innovator Award. which honours a community-based physician who has shown outstanding leadership or innovation in the use of health Information Technology in medical practice. Dr. Lane teaches McMaster Rural Stream residents in his practice in Stayner, Ontario. He is an asset to ROMP as a physician, preceptor and mentor. eHealth Ontario recognised Dr. Lane for the development and implementation of a merged database at the Georgian Bay Family Health Team which allows clinicians to share documents and collaborate through a single health record maintained for all their patients ensuring continuity of care. Additionally, Dr. Lane also led the e-Prescribing Demonstration Project which moved paper-based prescribing online, allowing physicians to securely and electronically generate, authorize and transmit prescriptions to local pharmacies. ROMP salutes Dr. Lane! |
